A Brief Guide to Pembroke
Pembroke is a delightful and ancient town right inside the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Pembroke’s dominant feature is Pembroke Castle, a massive Norman castle surrounded on three sides by water. Otters and kingfishers can be seen in the castle mill pond.
Standing on the castle’s keep gives magnificent views across the town. Pembroke still retains its ancient Town Walls. Pembroke was given the status as a conservation area in 1978.
The popular holiday resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot, and the beautiful beaches on the Castlemartin peninsular are close by. The historic and revitalised dockyard towns of Pembrokeshire Dock and Milford Haven; There are also historic castles at Carew and Manorbier. Narberth is a pretty little market town inland from Pembroke and family theme parks such as Oakwood and Folly Farm are close by.
